Review by hotel critic
Upon my recent stay at the Altyn Dala Hotel in Nur-Sultan, I had a rather warm experience despite the winter chill outside. The indoor pool offered a delightful escape, while the attentive staff ensured we felt at home – a nice change from some of my previous encounters in historic inns, where the charm often overshadows service. The free buffet breakfast was indeed a highlight, especially as my husband and I savored fresh pastries while watching our child explore the playground. Though a coffee choice would have been appreciated alongside the tea! The location was charming as well; a mere five-minute stroll led us to a variety of cafes and supermarkets, perfect for weekend exploration. As we returned to our room, the air conditioning was a relief, especially since we were bundled up against the frosty weather outside. Each evening concluded with a session at the sauna – a perfect way to unwind before drifting off in the comfort of our room, complete with necessary amenities and a flat-screen TV. In all, while Altyn Dala may not be a historical Gem, its warmth, service, and amenities made it a pleasant choice for our family getaway. In the future, I will certainly heed the lesson to explore further reviews before making a choice!
